Job description

We are looking to appoint a SENCO (either full time or part time) starting in September 2024, initially on a one-year fixed-term contract.

Team player

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with a specialist post-graduate qualification in specific learning difficulties (Spld)/the National SENCO award or a commitment to obtain such a qualification over the next three years and will have experience of working as a SENCO, line-managing TAs as well as overseeing the implementation and monitoring of EHC plans.

The person appointed will almost certainly be a teacher with a warm, friendly and outgoing personality. We are looking for a team player who can work collaboratively with other teachers and teaching assistants. The role will also require periodic meetings with parents and appropriate skills and time with planning and documentation There will also be an expectation to assist with some playground duties and other forms of child supervision. A willingness to accompany school trips would be an advantage too.
