A Testament to Excellence: ISI Inspection Report
Last term, we had the privilege of welcoming the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) to our school, marking our first inspection under the exciting new framework introduced in September 2023. This approach moves beyond a simple one-word judgment, focusing instead on the rich experiences of our pupils in four essential areas:
- Leadership, management, and governance
- Quality of education, training, and recreation
- Pupils’ physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Pupils’ social and economic education and their contributions to society
A team of nine inspectors—comprised of both current and retired Heads, Deputy Heads, and Senior Leaders—diligently explored our practices through staff and pupil interviews, observations of lessons, tutor time, and assemblies. They thoughtfully analysed a comprehensive range of policies, documentation, and samples of pupil work.
We are absolutely thrilled with the report, which beautifully showcases the many strengths of our schools and the foundation, affirming the outstanding provision available to all our pupils. The inspectors noted that we fully met all the assessed standards, a wonderful testament to our collective hard work. Among the highlights, our curriculum was celebrated for its high academic and intellectual ambition, recognised as a “significant strength”—a truly prestigious honour in the new inspection framework. This distinction is reserved for schools demonstrating remarkable practices that inspire all pupils, marking a significant milestone for us.
It is paramount that every young person who walks through our doors feels valued and empowered to become their best selves. The report praises the leadership across our Foundation for cultivating an atmosphere where each pupil is seen as an individual, and their well-being is prioritised. The true strength of our school lies in its people. While we are immensely proud of our pupils, it is the unwavering dedication, care, and expertise of our extraordinary staff—both teaching and support—that truly drives our students’ success. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all staff members, encouraging you to take pride in this well-deserved, externally validated recognition of our joint efforts.
