Entrance examinations

A confidential report is requested from each candidate’s current school and this plays an important part in the selection procedure.

8+ candidates are invited in for assessment in December. The entrance assessment will consist of written English and Maths tests. Tests will be administered in classrooms.

Successful candidates will be invited back in January for an interview and to participate in group work activities. They will be observed on their social interaction and behaviour. The boys will have the opportunity to play, and will be given light refreshments during the three-hour period they attend the school. This will take place on the same day as the 7+ entrance tests.

The performance of boys in the January assessment is included along with entrance assessment scores and any other relevant information before decisions about admissions are made.
