Partnerships Week
This week is Partnerships Week and UCS is incredibly proud of its partnership programmes and continues to prioritise its robust connections with neighbouring institutions. In 2023-24 the school took part in a total of 38 partnership events with a total of 750 UCS pupils participating in at least one partnership event.
Our pupils gain invaluable experience by working on collaborative projects with students from different backgrounds. Previous successful partnerships include:
French Debating/Immersion Day
Pupils from LAE joined us for a Year 12 French debating competition. Students prepared both sides of each debate ahead of time, which led to a lively and in-depth debate. This was the second edition of the event, and we very much hope to be able to run it annually.
Art Felt
UCS teachers ran playwriting workshops at Rhyl Primary School in Camden, where all Year 5 pupils wrote a short play centring around a disagreement between two household objects. Six of these were chosen to be performed by some very talented UCS actors on Wednesday 5th June under the evening event titled “Art-Felt”.
LAE / UCS September Visit
Over 60 pupils from University College School and London Academy of Excellence – Stratford joined UCS for an event aimed at promoting green initiatives at their respective schools. The pupils then worked in groups developing campaign ideas of their own.
James and the Giant Peach Primary School Matinee
200 primary school pupils were invited to a special matinee performance of James and the Giant Peach, the Lower School production. The pupils enjoyed experiencing the Lund Theatre and talking to the performers after the show.
