We are looking for a full-time Teacher of Computer Science to join a highly successful department at UCS. The chosen candidate will join a thriving and supportive Computer Science Department and will be passionate about teaching and learning across the age and ability ranges, including A Level. The department comprises three teachers, including the Head of Computer Science.
Outstanding opportunity
UCS is a major London day school and we expect to appoint a teacher who combines a strong intellect with an imaginative and flexible approach to classroom teaching; who is wise and sensitive in their planning of lessons, and rigorous and friendly in their delivery. The ability to also teach Mathematics would be preferable.
Computer Science is a popular Year 9 and GCSE option, with around 170 pupils in this age category. At A Level, it is growing too, and currently there are two Computer Science sets each in Year 12 and Year 13.
This is an outstanding opportunity to teach in a congenial and stimulating setting. It should, therefore, be attractive to an ECT (UCS offers full statutory induction) or to a serving teacher seeking wider experience. We welcome equally applications from teachers in the maintained sector and from the independent sector, as well as from those without a formal teaching qualification.
